Biography of Dream Theater

PERSONAL

Dream Theater were originally called Majesty was formed in New York in 1985. Starting from the collaboration John Myung (bass), John Petrucci (guitar) and Mike Portnoy (drums) who studied at music school Berklee College of Music, they then recruited Kevin Moore (keyboards) and Chriss Collings (vocals). This group later changed its name to Dream Theater because there was another group also named Majesty and demand that they change the name.

CAREER

Their first album, WHEN DREAM AND DAY UNITE Mechanic Records released by 1989. This album failed to penetrate the market and resulted promo tour Dream Theater also restricted around New York alone. Formation changes after the first album. Their second album IMAGES AND WORDS released with James LaBrie that the vocals. In 1999, Jordan Rudess entered fill the keyboardist and the same year Dream Theater album release METROPOLIS PT. 2: SCENES FROM A MEMORY.

Dream Theater recorded released 10 studio albums, five live albums, and one compilation album during a career of more than 20 years. Later, still in 2007, until 2008, they released the album CHAOS IN MOTION, followed by the album BLACK CLOUDS AND SILVER Linings. Most recently, in 2011 they released the album A DRAMATIC TURN OF EVENTS in 2011.
